Inverary, with its famous castle, home to the Duke of Argyll, is only 18 miles away on the shores of neighbouring Loch Fyne. Oban is a very scenic 90 minute drive as are the ferry links to Islay and Arran. Our lovely village, Lochgoilhead, has a great selection of facilities for visitors - there is boat hire, cycle hire, kayak hire, laser clay shooting, two outdoor activity centres, golf and swimming at Drimsynie Leisure centre, a thriving bowls club which welcomes visitors, an inn and hotel with restaurants and bar plus miles of amazing walks from lochside to mountain top.
The Cowal Way, which runs from Portavadie to Inveruglas, passes through the village and is a popular 40 mile route for walkers and cyclists.
